8.50 (very good) The show was much more fun than the anime, in my opinion. Character development was good and the light-heartedness makes it fun to rewatch often. (yay for Misaki + Ohjiro!)

7.00 (above average) This show's ridiculous, unexplained randomness appealed to me on a level I still do not completely comprehend.

7.00 (above average) This show cracks me up! What's not to love about an obnoxious man with a blonde afro who fights with his nose hair. But although I love what I've seen, you have to have an idiotic, random sense of humor to really appreciate it.

7.00 (above average) This is one of the first anime series that I watched, and I still love it for its overall kid-friendliness and silliness.

7.00 (above average) As expected, this show actually turned out to be rather amusing. Unexpectedly, however, it was also quite emotional and deep. The characters were lots of fun (I especially love Spike and Edward, thought Jet and Faye were cool too). My biggest complaint was the sudden ending; it would have been even more profound if they had made the ending last a little bit longer.

5.00 (moderate) It was alright...characters and story were ok, but it just didn't pull me in until near the end. Kinda slow movin'. I think I would have liked it more if it had focused on Dark more.

7.50 (good) Very fun series with an interesting web of characters. Goofy and random, it also manages to be serious and make you like characters you would otherwise hate. They could of done a bit more with the series, but Shinra FTW!

Final Fantasy Unlimited

7.50 (good) To be honest, it's been so long since I've watched FFU that I don't remember much other than some really wierdness and that it was enjoyable. Oh, and the guy with the white hair was both good looking and cool. Sadly, that's all I've got.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

2.00 (very poor) Although there were some decent moments in the movie, I couldn't help but feel like this was just a fangirl's dream. The men were very feminine, the story was odd, and the action was ridiculous in a way that wasn't even funny. Final Fantasy 7 was a good game, but it should have stopped at that.

7.00 (above average) Minimalist storytelling that works surprisingly well and absolutely gorgeous artwork. Pulls at your heartstrings with a story that is interesting and yet all too realistic.

9.00 (very good) One of the first animes I watched, I quickly fell in love with the characters. Sweet, sappy, and fun, and very original! The manga could get pretty melodramatic, but it's still one of my all time favorites!

Full Moon wo Sagashite

Seen: partially; Own: partially;

Last Updated: Oct 16, 2010

6.00 (average) Full Moon is arguably my favorite manga, but the anime (at least what I've seen) left something to be desired. The story was unnecessarily dumbed down, which caused the story to lose much of what made it so moving. It also doesn't help the only released the first half in the U.S.

9.00 (very good) I love the characters, artwork, voice acting, and story. It had a nice balance of humor and seriousness. Not recommended for younger audiences, however, because Miaka seems to frequently misplace her clothes.

Gake no Ue no Ponyo

Last Updated: May 31, 2011

8.50 (very good) PONYO! What else is there to say? Though odd, this movie was fun and interesting. And Ponyo herself was extremely adorable and amusing. :D While Ponyo might be an exact retelling of the little mermaid story, its twists make it very unique and one of my favortite Miyazaki films. <3

8.00 (good) This is one of those movies that everyone should probably watch once in their lifetime because it is a truly great, heartwrenching movie. However, it was so depressing that I will probably never watch it again because I don't want to put myself through the emotional anguish again. Some people may think I'm exagerating, but this movie is one of the few things that has actually had that sort of effect on me.

GUILTY CROWN

Last Updated: Aug 08, 2012

4.00 (below average) A very ambitious show that fails at its attempts to be epic with sub-par character development and a plot that ultimately does not give the show anything to recommend it over the many other good shows that are out there.

8.50 (very good) First, just one thing: PASTAAAAAAA! Anyways, this show has a ton of charm to it for being so unique. While it's very politically incorrect, it doesn't come across as hateful. Some of the gags get a little old (and the language can be pretty strong!) but overall the characters and short and sweet nature of the show are a real treat.

5.00 (moderate) The artwork and the music were both awesome. However, unfortunately, the titular character never really stopped being a whiny little girl and the show was not near long enough to develope the likable characters.

8.50 (very good) This movie is so much fun! Characters were well developed and the story was excellent. Overall, this is probably my favorite Miyazaki film. And it doesn't hurt that both Christian Bale and Crispin Freeman were in it.

8.00 (good) This show was so much fun! It was colorful with good characters. The second season got a little too sappy and anti-competition for my taste at times, but was still good, just not as much so as the first season.

7.00 (above average) This show was absolutely something else. I personally didn't feel like it gave enough direction for all its symbolism, though the journey was incredibly fun and whacky. And SHOUMAAAAAAA! <3

Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Aug 10, 2011

7.00 (above average) This series was very interesting, despite the fact that some of the main characters took some warming up to. All of the secondary characters and their interweaving stories made this addicting, but if you're looking for more of a mecha fighting show this isn't that special. Also, the second season and its liberal messages were a bit too much for me. Still fun though!

8.00 (good) Lol, this show-especially the dub-is hilarious! Although the show does have a genuinely decent story and interesting characters, some of the art inconsistencies, awkward deliveries and awkwardly written lines make the show extra entertaining. Check it out if you're a fan of the nineties anime but don't have to take things too seriously. Duo! <3

6.50 (above average) A very cute retelling of Snow White, the manga of Pretear was adorable and kid-friendly. Sadly, with the anime they made it less kid-friendly and made some changes that really hurt the series for me. Still cute and fun though.

Princess Mononoke

8.00 (good) What really got me about this movie was the lack of black-and-white good-and-evil. Although I usually see the world in black and white, this movie proved that both can happen and developed its story well. Also, I want a crack casper.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

7.50 (good) I loved that this was short and sweet and got to the point while having a very unusual take on the Magical Girl genre. Not slap your momma good, but good none the less. Stop motiony sections were incredibly awesome and incredibly creepy.

Romeo x Juliet

9.00 (very good) Although, I respected Shakespeare's original play, I was never a huge fan of it, probably because its nature as a play meant there was next to no time for character development. This anime, however, I LOVED. While taking the basic premise of the play, Romeo x Juliet had wonderful character development, beautiful music and art, and expanded greatly on the story. And thought the ending was sad, it was filling and uplifting. Probably one of my favorite shows.

Saiyuki

Last Updated: May 31, 2011

4.50 (moderate) This show was both interesting and amusing, except that you get through 52 episodes and realize that they haven't solved what they set out to accomplish, and that they won't in the next 52 episode season either. I also could have done without all the language, smoking, drinking, and occasional sexual references. Still, it was fun and you have to love Kogaiji. I <3 Vic Mignogna as awesome demon prince!

9.00 (very good) This is definitely one of my favorite manga series. I can't help but love Tanemura's art-even if the eyes are huge-and Haine has got to be one of the most amusing leads I've seen, as a tough yankee who's also a huge dork. Plus the love interest turned out be lovable. <3 My biggest complaint would be that I didn't like the yaoi elements, but they weren't leads, so it didn't greatly lessen my enjoyment. Overall, this series might not be the greatest of the great, but the girl in me went bananas over it. :)

Shugo Chara

Last Updated: Jun 10, 2011

4.00 (below average) Was very dorky yet fun. The oufits were quite strange. And the show was too long, in my opinion; they could have cut out tons of filler. And I am torn between thinking "Ah! She didn't end up with the guy I wanted her to!" and "Wait a minute, you're 12! What do you know about love?" But as long as I don't think about their ages, I find this show cute and enjoyable.

Star Ocean

Last Updated: Apr 03, 2011

8.00 (good) Star Ocean EX was an enjoyable adaptation of Star Ocean 2, despite the fact that it changed many of the characters' personalities and only covered the first half of the game. Still fun though with good music, artwork, and characters (even if they were different).

Tears to Tiara

4.00 (below average) Had some potentially awesome characters and story elements, but it had so many characters that most of them were underdeveloped. The last plot arc and its twisting of religion was also pretty annoying. Is it sad that my favorite character was dead the whole time and only appeared in about ten minutes of flashbacks?

Tenkuu no Escaflowne

4.00 (below average) Although interesting, the lack of a real plot or character development really turned me off. I felt that it was too bland most of the time to be almost purely episoidal. Still worth seeing at least once, however.
